Bike

Cycling to the Rubens Castle is an experience in itself. Navigate your bike to where people rode their horses and carts back in Rubens’ day. And rest assured: there is ample bicycle parking at the castle.

Bike sharing

Grab your shared bike and ride to Rubens Castle for just €1. You can even open up to 5 bikes with one account. You can use a bike sharing service via the Zingi app

How do you proceed?

1. Scan the QR code and install the Zingi app on your smartphone.
2. Enter “SU” as the company account.
3. Create an account via the “sign up” button at the bottom.
4. Load an amount into your Wallet. Any balance remaining will be fully refunded when you unsubscribe afterwards. So you only pay for the rides made.
5. Scan the QR code on the bike’s handlebar and the lock will open automatically. Off you go!

Once you arrive at Rubens Castle, close the lock by hand.
Locking the bike is only possible at the castle’s bike park or the parking zone at the train station.

Bicycle malfunction?
Close the lock and report the defect via the key icon in the app. Indicate the problem and confirm.
You can unlock another bike afterwards.

Please note
For €1, you get 20 minutes of cycling time. This should be sufficient
to reach the castle. If you still haven’t locked the bike after
20 minutes, a new 20-minute period starts and you pay an extra €1.

Directions
By default, there are 50 bikes at a 5-minute walk from Eppegem Station
(both the train station and the bus stop).

Car

Although we want to discourage the car as much as possible and certainly ask visitors from the surrounding area to come by bike, on foot or by public transport, we provide free parking for about 50 cars on site.

You can also park at the Sint-Martinus church at Binnenweg 4, 1982 Zemst.
From there, it is a 30 minute walk to Rubens Castle. (See route below)

There is also free parking provided at Eppegem station, from where you can use shared bicycles.
